Compact pressure transmitter programme, MBS 9300 is designed for use in marine applications e.g. crankcase and turbocharger filters monitoring as well as applications within level measurement. The programme covers 4 – 20 mA output signal, gauge versions, measuring span from 40 – 250 mbar as well as bidirectional ranges e.g. -70 – 70 mbar etc. This pressure transmitters are temperature compensated and have excellent shock and vibration robustness.

For the needs of the Archimeds turbine project, these two sensors will be used on the water suction system that returns the water from the bottom pool of the testing station to the upper pool of testing station. One pressure sensor will be mounted at the pump inlet and the other pressure sensor will be mounted at the pump outlet. The readout pressure difference will control the operation of the pump (water flow), and at the same time it will be possible to control the turbine operating points. Known variables in operating points will enable us to optimize the turbine regime of operation.
